It had been five years, and he still hated the taste of the stuff. But at least it wasn't chunky and vomit-like, which he supposed had something to do with the person he was turning into. It was a Potion not unlike the Polyjuice Potion that he took every day, only there was no person he could steal hairs from. He was altering his own appearance, turning into a male every day before anyone could notice. He was always seen carrying a flask, taking sips from it before going to bed so he wouldn't wake up as a female.
The only problem was, the Potion was impossible to hold down when he was sick, so he'd had some close calls when he'd been ill. On one occasion he'd had to go to the Hospital Wing, where luckily, the Nurse had known about his condition. She was the only one, along with the Headmaster and the Potions Professor, who knew about his predicament, and he was intent on keeping it that way.
Which was why his package was sealed tightly shut, a note from his mother revealing nothing on the outside. Here are the supplies you asked for honey. Have a good term! Love you, mom. In it were all the ingredients he needed - save for some things he could simply ask their Potions master for. It'd be enough to last him for a few months at least, and Lukas Clarke couldn't wait to put this package safely in his room.

The small village still had it's appeal to Oliver. A lot of the students in his year didn't even bother going anymore, unless there was something they desperately needed, but they'd been going there for three years. He supposed that a place so small could lose it's magic very quickly, but so far, he still liked the visits. The main reason was probably the sweet shop - For a boy who looked like he didn't even eat dust, he sure ate a heck of a lot of sweets. So many that he was actually waiting for his teeth to fall out, or someone to tell him he has diabetes, or some other sugar-related illnesses.
Today, he was wandering around the village for lack of something better to do, armed with a couple of lollipops to amuse him for a while. With no homework, and everyone else too busy for him, he'd figured a few hours walking alone, while not really desirable, would be a lot more interesting than being trapped in the castle. Passing the post office, a blonde-haired boy caught his eye, stopping him in his tracks. With a small smile, Oliver backpeddled a couple of steps and tapped on the window with his knuckle to attract his friend's attention. He knew he'd probably have to pull his notebook out eventually, but that was too much hassle right now.

Lukas about got a heart attack when he heard someone rap on the window closest to him, and he turned towards the unsuspecting visitor with wide eyes. Oh. Oliver. Great. Oliver...that wasn't so bad. In fact, out of all the people who could possibly find out about his predicament, he figured that Oliver was the least likely to judge. They were both somewhat strange, after all, though the Ravenclaws issue was definitely more noticeable. His wasn't, and he would make damn sure it stayed that way.
Tucking the package carefully underneath his arm, he paid for it and headed outside to greet his friend, feeling only a little strange. It was almost as if his secret was out there, on the streets, simply because he held this parcel right now. Luke had to breathe a couple of times before he was able to properly say hi to his mate, and he was hoping that Oli wouldn't notice his weird behavior. And if he did, well he could always joke about some inappropriate literature he'd received.
Except, it was hardly likely his mum would sent him any sort of dirty magazines, so he quickly ripped off the note and stuffed it in his pocket, smiling serenely at his friend.

Tilting his head, Oliver gave his friend a confused look, but decided not to press it further. Lukas had a habit of acting strange sometimes, and he'd learnt to get used to it and not ask for any explanation - the boy seemed to have a perfectly reasonable explanation for pretty much everything. Half the time, the Ravenclaw wasn't sure whether to believe him or not. In his eyes, his friend was either a really good liar or the most honest person he'd ever met. He chose to believe the latter, because it seemed more likely - something about Lukas made him trust him without a single doubt.
Shrugging the Gryffindor's strange behaviour out of his mind, he gave him a thumbs-up and a wink in return, getting the feeling that he'd interrupted the boy in the middle of something. That wasn't too great. Oliver chewed his lip awkwardly, and moved to lean on the back of a nearby bench while he dragged his notepad out of his bag. With a muggle pen, he jotted down the thoughts that were in his head at the time and held it up for the blonde to see.
Are you alright man? You look a little...off.

Damn Oliver and his stupid see-through brain. It was bad, how the Ravenclaw always seemed to notice when something was wrong. Not that it hadn't been completely obvious this time, but he usually knew whenever Lukas was down or feeling under the weather. It was quite uncanny, were it not for the fact that it was his only means of communication. He really should have expected it today, and he somewhat had, but it didn't mean he liked the question.
Unlike most people, he actually had a normal conversation with the brunette, albeit one sided. Oli wrote notes to him and he talked back, since he preferred lying [or in his words, covering up his secret] in words rather than writing. It was too confrontational if he read through what he really didn't like saying.
Lukas wasn't a particularly mean person and he wasn't fond of lying, though he knew it was necessary and avoided a lot of shit. But when he was forced to confront a subject that led to having to say untrue things, it always made him feel bad. Avoiding the subject alltogether was a much more pleasant way of going about things.
"Just..got some stuff from home." Dammit, that fucked up his statement about dirty magazines. He was such a dumbass sometimes. "I'm fine, I just didn't expect to see you here. I figured I was alone, and that everything I do was in private, and then you show up." He was rambling a little, unsure of how to cover up something that shouldn't have seemed like a big deal to begin with.

With an amused grin, Oliver held his hand up to the blonde boy and shook his head gently. He didn't know why Lukas was tripping over his words, but judging by the way he was acting, it probably wasn't the best idea to press the matter further. Even if he was curious, he wasn't completely heartless. He lifted himself up to sit on the back of the bench and jotted down:
Hey, if you didn't want to tell me, that's all you had to say, you know'
He held this up to his friend and gave him a small smile to go along with it. As easy as it was to talk to Luke, Oliver still hadn't been able to bring himself to tell his best friend anything about himself or his life... He figured that if the Gryffindor let him keep his secrets, then he should return the favour. And change the subject. That'd be a good idea right now, if only his mind would let him think of one. He must have gotten up far too early today, if Luke had expected to be alone and he couldn't even think of something suitable to talk about to his best friend. After a few minutes of sitting idly and swinging his legs, he heaved a sigh and wrote something else down.
Sorry, I guess it was the wrong time to interrupt? I'll get lost?

Lukas couldn't help smiling, relieved at that first statement. As much as he cared about Oliver, this was something he wanted to actually talk about. Not put in writing so that everyone in the world, and their mother, could read it. It was maybe a little unfair to the tiny Ravenclaw, but he couldn't help himself, defending it with the logic that said Oliver had secrets of his own as well. It wasn't like it had been with Bryn, who was an open book to whoever came along. Secrets were allowed between him and the Ravenclaw.
As he read the next line, Lukas shook his head quickly. He'd been stunned into silence for a bit, drawn into his thoughts, but he didn't want the other to leave. "No, stay. It'd be cool to hang out for a bit" He gave his friend another smile, hopefully encouraging him to stay and engage in conversation with him. What could he say though? "Uhm, how was your summer?" They didn't often talk about his family, or where Oliver went during holidays, it was sort of an unspoken agreement between them not to bring it up, but right now he was drawing a blank as to what to ask otherwise.
