Davey nodded. Crashing on the couch and stuffing his face with pizza while watching a DVD sounded pretty good to him. Now if they could just get out of here before the events caught up with him and he went into panic mode.
That was one thing Davey hated about himself. He suffered severe panic attacks. Especially after being in a stressful situation. He'd had them his whole life, but after his parents had died, they had gotten worse. Of course sometimes, and in Davey's opinion this was worse, he went completely catatonic. He would rather be panicked and crying, than lethargic and listless.
He always knew when a panic attack was coming on because he would start breathing faster and faster, almost to the point of hyperventilating. Also, he would get dizzy and the room would start to spin. Chaz also said that he got really pale.
He leaned into Chaz when the other put him arm around him. he smiled softly at Ben as he and Chaz walked away. He heard Chaz saying something about a bet. Bet? What bet? Ahh, that's right. They had made a bet to see who could get a guy's number first. Apparently Chaz had won. Oh well. Chaz also said something about it being a good snog. With who? Hmm, most likely Ben. Davey wished it had been him.

Davey being so quiet was never a good thing. Chaz worried, but he said nothing, taking the blonde boy home as quick as he could. His arm stayed safely wrapped around his waist as they walked the few blocks that separated them from the Gryffindors apartment. It took them fifteen minutes, Chaz growing increasingly worried as all he heard from his friend was his ragged breathing. He'd seen him go into his panic attacks before, and he always felt so helpless, not knowing a thing to help him through it.
Unlocking the front door, he gently pushed his friend inside and helped him out of his jacket, before leading him to the couch. Chaz only left him half a minute to get the both of them a drink, a glass of water set down on the table before he sat himself next to him, wrapping his arms around him again.
"Breathe honey." His voice was soft, lips pressed to his forehead as he rubbed his best friends back softly, up and down and over and over again. "It's alright. We're home safely now. I'm here to protect you." He was babbling mindlessly, trying to find the right words to get Davey back to reality.

Davey walked in silence next to Chaz, the only sound from him was his ragged breathing. Why oh why had he done something so stupid? Even before all the drama had happened, his instincts had told him that the two men were bad news. But did he listen to his instincts? No, of course not! He had to go and make a fool of himself as usual.
He was so focused on not panicking that he barely noticed they'd reached his house. He was vaguely aware of Chaz unlocking the door and gently pushing him inside. He let himself be led to the couch and sat down without argument. He instinctively clung to Chaz for a second before letting the brunette go into the kitchen. He quietly took the glass of water Chaz handed him and took a small sip.
As he sat there, his mind flashed back to the events at the club and he realised that if Chaz hadn't showed up, the outcome could have been very different. With this realization the panic finally set in. The glass slipped from his shaking hand, shattering on the coffee table. Water went pretty much everywhere as Davey leaned towards Chaz and curled up next to his friend as the first tears slipped from his eyes.

He'd expected it to hit before the glass shattered, hearing the tiny hitch in his breath that alerted him to the fact his friend was finally registering what could have happened. It had been raging in Chaz's head the whole walk home, but he had refrained from saying anything that would make things worse. If he hadn't been there, if he'd been too busy snogging Ben to notice...he was so angry with himself that he could cry, but right now Davey was far more important than his own feelings.
He pulled him closer the moment his friend leaned into him, practically hauling the shorter boy into his lap, arms wrapped tightly around him. His lips were everywhere on the blondes face, kissing away the tears, trying to comfort him with a simple press of lips against his forehead, trying to convince him in quiet that he was here, that he would always be here.
Chaz was very lucky in one aspect. He seemed to have this spot on radar for noticing when his best friend was in trouble. It was never faulty, he'd never once had this nagging feeling that something was wrong when it actually wasn't, and he was thankful for that. Thankful for having the chance to protect him, though he still felt horrible in not knowing how to stop these panic attacks.
"I'm here sweetie" He repeated it softly, forcing back the I'm so sorry that was on his tongue. He'd tell him that later, maybe, when things had settled down. As much as he didn't want Davey to blame this on him, he felt it would be deserved if the other boy did. If they hadn't made this stupid bet, if he hadn't gone off to flirt with some cute boy...he could've stopped this. He should've stopped this.

Davey allowed himself to be pulled into Chaz's lap. The gesture, while it didn't exactly calm him down, was comforting. The small blond, well small compared to Chaz anyway, buried his face in Chaz's chest as he continued to cry from fear and panic. He was still berating himself over what happened. Not once did he think to blame Chaz. After all, Chaz wasn't the one who had suggested the bet, Chaz wasn't the one who had allowed two guys to dance with him. It was Davey's own fault he got in the situation.
Davey let out a small sniffle and snuggled even closer to Chaz. "I want my mom" he said in a small voice. After he'd said it, he was almost ashamed. Almost. But why should he be? His mom had always been there when he'd gone into a panic attack, she had always been the one to hold him and tell him everything would be ok. Wasn't it natural for him to want her there, even though he knew she never would be again?
He barely noticed Chaz anymore. In fact, if you listened closely, you could hear through the crying, the word 'mama' over and over.

It was heartbreaking, the boys voice calling out for his mother time and again. Chaz buried his face in Daveys hair, breathing in his scent and feeling a little comforted by that. He wished he could do something for his friend, could make him feel some of the comfort and calm that spread through him as he inhaled his friends scent.
Holding him close, he rocked him gently, letting the blonde shake through the worst of the panic attack without so much as a word, letting him call for his mum while he felt utterly helpless and lost. What was there to say? That he was here? He wasn't Daveys mother and he wouldn't be able to make things better. All he could do was sit here, hold him, and be there once the worst was over.
Of course, at some point, he heard himself babbling again, hardly aware that he was speaking in the first place until he'd heard his own voice murmuring in the Gryffindors ear. "It'll be alright love. You'll be okay. I'll take care of you, I promise. Forever." Or until the boy got sick of him, though he doubted that would happen. They needed each other, it was literally easier to breathe when Davey was around.

Davey sat there in Chaz's arms. Still crying. Still calling for his mother. What good did it do though? His mother wasn't there. She would never come to him when he called for her again. Maybe it was time to get over it. Time to move on. It had after all, been nearly a year. But how could he possibly move on now? Especially when he was just starting to accept their death. Hell, if even that.
He felt Chaz rocking him and somehow, Davey knew that everything would be okay. Sure he had done something stupid, again. Sure once he calmed down Chaz was sure to scold him for said stupid thing. And sure, Davey being Davey would probably pout and whine and try to come up with an excuse. And of course Chaz would give him his 'I'm not buying it so don't even try' look.
Finally the tears ebbed and he sighed, leaning against Chaz. "I'm sorry." he said softly. He knew how helpless Chaz felt when he panicked like this, and he hated making Chaz feel that way. He smiled at Chaz as he recalled what the brunette had said. "I know you will." He knew Chaz would protect him and take care of him no matter what happened. He always had.
Then suddenly, Davey did something he never expected to do. He leaned towards Chaz and placed a small but sweet kiss on his friends lips. It lasted less than about two seconds but still, it left him reeling; and terrified of what the other boy would say. He quickly pulled back, eyes wide. "Oh god, I- I'm sorry!" What the hell was wrong with him!? You don't just go kissing your friend like that! Especially a friend who is straight and has a girlfriend. Even if you are secretly in love with him. That's just something you don't do.
Davey quickly stood and began cleaning up the broken glass. A mechanical response to his discomfort. His hands were shaking so much however that he mananged to somehow wedge about a one and a half inch piece of glass into the palm of his right hand. Ouch. Well that was fucking wonderful. "Dammit!" he cursed as he tugged at the glass trying to get it out. Of course seeing as it was already slick with blood, that wasn't going so well. Plus the tugging somehow wedged it even deeper (how the fuck was that possible?) and made it hurt even worse.

It was a bit odd, he had to admit, feeling Daveys lips pressed up against his own. However, it being over before he could properly digest what had happened made him feel almost better. It was probably Davey trying to convey just how much this meant to him. Thanking him without words. Yeah. That's most likely what he'd tried to do. Classifying it as such made Chaz feel a lot better, and he watched Davey stumble around, trying to pick up the glass pieces with almost a hint of amusement in his eyes.
That was, until the boy managed to hurt himself. He almost sighed, batting the others free hand away as he tried to get the piece out, and taking the bleeding palm into his own hands. "Moron" He murmured it softly, using his sleeve to dab at the blood until he'd managed to get a little better view of the piece of glass.
Davey was squirming and he sighed again, looking up at his friend, seeing those puffed up eyes so close. "Don't move. I'm trying to help." His fingers were soft as he tried to get a grip on the splinter of glass, but he couldn't force it out right away.
Staring at it for a moment - he was still a little too drunk to think clearly straight away - he figured that it was probably best if he grabbed a pair of tweezers to dig out the piece, and he let go of Daveys hand for a moment to walk into the bathroom. Coming back with a grin on his face and the tweezers held up as if he had just discovered the law of gravity, Chaz bounded over to the seat and quickly tugged out the piece of glass, setting it carefully on the table. Having done so, he shook his head a little, a hint of that smile still there. "Idiot."

Davey sat there on the floor, mechanically picking up glass; all the while yelling at himself about how stupid he was kissing Chaz. He really needed to get ahold of his hormones and emotions before he did something he would regret.
Chaz it seemed however, was not fazed by it. Or maybe he was just an excellent actor. It was probably the second one. Excellent actor. Davey knew that if he had been in Chaz's position, he would've freaked out. But Chaz, despite the fact that he was straight, or was he? Seemed to be taking the kiss rather well. Of course, there was also the possibility that he hadn't fully processed what had happened yet. Davey only hoped that when it finally did sink in, Chaz wouldn't hate him.
Honestly, Davey would rather die than have Chaz hate him. He wouldn't be able to handle the brunette not being his friend. He needed Chaz. Chaz was literally the only reason the blonde even got out of bed in the mornings. If he didn't have Chaz, he had nothing.
Then, thankfully, the mood turned light and playful. Or well, as light and playful as it could get with him having glass digging into his hand. He pouted when Chaz called him a moron, and stuck his tongue out when he was called an idiot. Of course he knew they were said in jest. Besides, it was true. If he had paid attention he wouldn't have cut himself. He winced slightly as Chaz pulled the glass out with the tweezers. He smiled at his best friend. "Thank you" and finished cleaning the glass up and took it to the kitchen to throw it away. Walking back towards the living room, he plopped down next to Chaz. "Okay, so what do you wanna watch?"

Chaz watched the other cleaning up the rest of the glass, eyes following the blonde as he moved out of the living room, presumably to throw away the pieces he'd collected. Brown focused upon blue as he returned, a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. He was quick to tug the boy in his arms when Davey returned, adamant on making this the way it usually was - the two of them cuddling up without any awkwardness ensuing between them.
At least, he thought it could be that way. Maybe it wasn't for the Gryffindor in his arms, but he wasn't really sure why he'd kissed him. Chaz just figured it didn't matter anyway. They were drunk, stupid things tended to happen when one was inebriated. It was just the law of alcohol. If he'd been sober, he never would've snogged Ben, and Davey never would've snogged him.
"Anything's good as long as it isn't gay porn" He joked, his arm casually slung around Daveys waist. "You can pick whatever you want. Do you want me to heat up the pizza or are we wolfing it down cold?" He was good with anything, as long as they'd stay here for another while before returning to bed. If he went now, he knew he would be worrying about that kiss more than was necessary.

Davey smiled as Chaz pulled him into his lap. It was nice to see that Chaz was still willing to be cuddly after the awkwardness of the kiss. To Davey it meant that it hadn't bothered Chaz, or of course it could mean that the other boy was just willing to ignore it for a while. Davey hoped it was the first.
Besides, the kiss was just the alcohol speaking. It had to have been. The two did do unusual things when they were wasted. If they'd been sober Chaz never would've made out with that Ben kid, and Davey never would've kissed Chaz. It had to have been the alcohol. Right?
But of course it wasn't. At least, not completely. Davey had wanted to kiss Chaz of course, but hadn't had the nerve until he'd been drinking. Liquid courage. He hated that the only way he had the nerve to do what he wanted was to get wasted. He wanted to tell Chaz how he felt about him. Really felt. But Chaz had a girlfriend, so Davey would just have to wait.
The Gryffindor laughed when Chaz mentioned gay porn. "Don't worry. I don't watch that stuff. Freaks me out. I was actually thinking more along the lines of... Lion King?" Davey was a Disney freak. He had every Disney movie ever made. Scratch that, every Disney Classic 'cause let's face it, the new stuff sucks.
"Please?" he begged, giving Chaz his most adorable puppy face, which he knew the older boy wouldn't be able to resist. Of course, who could resist those big blue eyes?

Chaz couldn't help laughing when Davey directed his puppy eyes at him, pouting back, his bottom lip protruding. "Now that's no fair! You know I can't resist your puppy look!" He shook his head a little, tickling his best friend for a moment before seemingly giving in. Sighing deeply, he grinned at the boy in his arms. "Awww okay, I give in! Lion King it is. On one condition..." Yes, he could be evil, and he planned to be right now.
"You eat pizza" Davey thought he was being so subtle, hiding his eating disorder, but Chaz was his best mate. Of course he knew what went on with him. It was his job to know, to protect the one he cared about most - and yes, he was aware of how bad that sounded. It was just, Caye could take care of herself (sometimes a little too much, thankyousomuch), whereas Davey was just the type of boy who needed someone to hold his hand sometimes. Especially after his parents had passed away, things were just hard.
He couldn't help laughing a little at his friends face. "By the way, why does gay porn freak you out? You'd think you'd be turned on by it, seeing as it's stuff you want to do..." He trailed off, shaking his head in amusement and sliding his fingers up and down Daveys arm.

Davey smirked. "I know, that's why I do it" he knew Chaz wouldn't have been able to resist. So, he used the puppy face to his advantage. The trick of course, was to not over-use it. To use it only when absolutely necessary, otherwise it lost it's power.
He smiled gleefully when Chaz agreed to Lion King. He knew the older boy would give in! Of course... he also knew there would be a condition
"You eat pizza"
And there it was. There was a split-second of silence before Davey answered in a falsely cheerful voice, "Sure!" he hoped Chaz wouldn't notice, or if he did, which he most likely would, he wouldn't say anything.
Davey knew that Chaz thought he had an eating disorder. But he didn't. Did he? Just because he skipped a few meals once in a while didn't mean he was anorexic or something. It just meant that some days he just wasn't hungry. Right?
Of course he had to admit, his habit of not eating had gotten alot worse after his parents died. But that was due to the grief. There was no way he'd starve himself on purpose. But what if that was what was happening? What if he really was borderline anorexic?
Then, came the topic of gay porn. Again. Huh, you'd think Chaz was the one who wanted to watch it the way he kept mentioning it.
"I dunno why it freaks me out. Just does. Are you sure you're not the one who wants to watch it? You're the one that keeps bringing it up" he teased

Hah. Yeah. Like Davey could fool him that easily. Chaz just shook his head but decided not to comment on the subject, instead giving him a smile that said he knew exactly what went on in the boys head. He cared for him so much, and to see him so devastated was literally hurting him, but what else could he do that he wasn't doing already? He was helping him as much as he could, being there for him, offering him a place to sleep when the nightmares got really bad...
No wonder people thought they were gay for each other. Still, Chaz couldn't care much. He knew what things were like and so did Davey. Of course, it didn't mean he couldn't joke about the subject. "Oh yeah, didn't I tell you? I have a big gay crush on you and I'm trying to get you turned on so you'll agree to making out with me." He laughed softly, brushing a kiss to blonde hair before he untangled himself from the boy to grab the left-over pizza.
Fixing them both a drink (non-alcoholic this time as he had no desire to puke his guts out later this evening) and putting the pizza on plates, he wandered back into the living room, poking Daveys side with his sock-clad toe. "C'mon you, pop in that dvd already before I change my mind."

Davey blushed slightly and looked away. He should've known he wouldn't be able to to fool Chaz. The boy knew everything about him. He paid more attention to Davey than Davey did to himself. So of course he would have noticed just how thin the smaller boy was getting. In fact, Davey had already lost about five pounds within the past two weeks. He knew that wasn't good, but he just couldn't make himself eat.
But he would for Chaz. And only for Chaz. Only Chaz could get him to eat. Even if it was just a few slices of pizza. If not for the Hufflepuff, Davey would probably skip who knows how many meals?
He laughed when Chaz made his gay crush joke. He knew of course that the older boy was just teasing him. It was a relief and comfort that they could joke about things like that without feeling awkward.
"Alright, alright. Hold your horses" he complained good-naturedly when Chaz told him to pop the dvd in before he changed his mind. Untagnling himself from the other boy's arms, he walked over to the cabinet where he kept all his movies and hunted for the dvd. Finally locating it he popped it in, skipped the previews, and pressed play.
Crawling back onto Chaz's lap he snuggled against the older boy as the movie began
