**WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE**
Picture:
Looks:
Hair/Eye Colour: Dark brown/blue, doesn't wear contacts or glasses
Height/Weight: 6'1"/176lbs give or take a few
Appearance:
Jake doesn't do much in accessorizing his uniform. His tie may be messy and his shirt may be untucked when he's relaxed but that would be about it. He wears a cowrie bracelet on his right wrist constantly, that's something not seen everyday at Hogwarts.
Favourite Outfit:
Jake likes to dress in muggle clothing when not in school robes. Mainly it's jeans, trainers or zip up black boots(like these) and a band tee or button up long sleeve shirt over a simple white t-shirt. His clothes are nice and reflect his interest in muggle bands and styles. He'll wear any color generally except pink or purple(he considers these colors to be girly and doesn't want to be seen as that). He isn't that fond of wearing a tuxedo, or dress robes but will when he needs to, but he's generally seen messing with the collar. He doesn't like being restricted by his clothes.
**PERSONALITY**
How do you treat your friends:
Jake keeps his friends close, they're very important to him. He doesn't like to have conflict with them and will try to avoid it at all costs. He's a great listener with his friends but when it's his turn to talk it's difficult for him. He tries his best to be a good friend but sometimes is known to be a bit aloof and not too helpful when he just doesn't know what to do to improve a situation.
How do you treat your enemies:
Jake generally hates from afar. Since he's not big on conflict or violence he just glares and goes about his business. It takes a lot for him to get violent in any way with others.
Social Status:
Jake is friendly to everyone, well, almost everyone. If a family has a reputation of dark magic then Jake will generally stay away from them. With his father being military and not exactly approving of him being a wizard, he’s afraid to associate with families like that. He’s got a group of friends that he mainly hangs out. He tends to spend a lot of time in the library absorbing books by himself so some may think he's a bit an outcast.
Positive Traits:
Determined
Trustworthy
Studious
Independent
Unselfish
Accepts authority
Negative Traits:
Sensitive
Easily Manipulated(sometimes)
Insecure
Jealous
Lazy
Indecisive
Bad liar

**SOME MORE INSIGHT**
Skills/Hobbies:
Skills:
He can play guitar fairly well, but doesn't own one. He's great in the garage and can fix minor problems with muggle cars and motorcycles.
Hobbies:
He likes to read and hang out with his friends doing just about anything. He's not that much of a social butterfly but will go out to have fun. He used to collect old coins but hasn't done much about that collection since he started going to Hogwarts.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes:
Swimming -- it helps keep him fit. He doesn't like doing the whole 'going to the gym' thing.
His cowrie shell bracelet -- he got it on a trip to Mexico and wears it pretty much daily.
Books -- They're a great way to gain knowledge of a subject, or a way to disengage from the craziness that is reality.
Fruits -- Being a slight health nut, he'd pick an apple or tangerine over a piece of candy almost every time. He does like sweets though.
Motorcycles -- They're fast and sexy. He loves owning one and sometimes thinks about somehow making his bike fly like the one that Sirius Black owned all those years ago.
Playing guitar -- When he gets the chance he likes strumming out some chords or a Muggle song he knows.
Quidditch -- He enjoys the game and loves playing it. Generally he likes to play in the chaser or keeper position but he's decent in the seeker position.
Dislikes:
Nosy people -- People sticking their nose in others business bugs him. It's rude, annoying and just a huge turn off.
Toffee -- He's not fond of toffee because it gets all over his teeth and feels like it's there for DAYS and he just can't get rid of it no matter how many times he brushes.
Smoking -- it reeks and makes everything else stink for days. Plus it's extremely unhealthy. He doesn't like drugs of any kind either.
Cracking knuckles -- the sound of someone cracking knuckles makes him cringe. It just sounds gross.
Screaming rap music -- Why would anyone want to listen to someone screeching like a banshee in your ear?
Maple syrup -- it's too sweet. On his pancakes or waffles it's just butter for Jake.
The Army -- He has no intention of joining the army. He gets ordered around enough at home.
Best/Worst memory:
Worst memory is being stuck in a well after falling into it accidentally. Jake was eight years old, alone on his grandparents property and climbed up on some unsteady rock next to the old stone well to look inside when the wall crumbled and he fell twenty feet. He broke his leg and hit his head on the wall sitting in the freezing water for almost twenty four hours before anyone thought to look in there.
Best memory is getting his letter to Hogwarts because then he felt like he really belonged somewhere and could express himself a little easier.
Secrets:
Jake isn't fond of secrets but he's keeping one, that he's gay but doesn't really want to be.
**YOUR HOGWARTS CAREER**
What subjects are you taking this term:
Transfiguration
Defense Against the Dark Arts
Potions
Herbology
Astonomy
Ancient Runes
Favourite/Least Favourite Subject:
Fav: Transfigutation - Who doesn't like being able to change a pigeon into a pocket watch and sing you the time? It amazes him how far you can go in magic in this particular category.
Divination - He thinks it's pointless, what's the point of going through life knowing what'll happen instead of just living it for yourself?
What kind of student are you:
Jake is a very studious student, hardly turning in homework late and he makes a solid effort in every class he is in. He doesn't make too much trouble in class since he isn't fond of punishment. He's only had three detentions during his stay at Hogwarts, all for minor things.
What is your preferred House:
Ravenclaw
**BEFORE AND AFTER**
How Did You Come To Be/Childhood:
Grace Mayer met Jake's bio-dad while working at the Ministry and had a one-night stand. Afterwards, the man's wife found out about his affair but there was no more contact between them. A few months later, Grace found out that she was pregnant. No one but Grace knew the father of her unborn child and when her son was born he was sent to a Muggle orphanage to be raised. Grace was only eighteen when she gave birth. Her parents disapproved of her getting pregnant in the first place but wouldn’t let her abort the child. They wanted their daughter to be able to find a pureblood husband and a young woman having a child out of wedlock still was frowned upon in her family’s eyes. When Jake turned two years old, Paige and John Masello adopted him. John was a part of the British Army and was quite a strict father to all of his kids since he and his wife had three other children after adopting Jake. John pushed his children to be the best; having them study hard and train harder, never letting his children just lounge around.
Growing up, Jake was a lively child. Smart, funny and always on the go. He loved to tinker with things with his father; taking the toaster apart then reassembling it was always one of his favorites. In school he was a bright kid, and he loved to learn. Every week he'd come home with at least three new books to read from the public or school library. While Jake was the eldest of four children, he was to set an example for his younger siblings and he lived up to this expectation the best he could. Jake was terrified to disappoint his father when he was younger and still is to this day, with his father being ever the traditionalist Jake was afraid to have a mind of his own until he attended Hogwarts.
When he was about nine, his mother started to notice little oddities, like things happening when Jake was upset. Both parents were completely surprised when a wizard came to their house the summer before Jake turned 11 and told them that Jake was also a wizard.
Coming To Hogwarts:
It was a bit of a liberating experience for Jake. Not having to answer to his father on a daily basis was great, but being treated differently at home because of his magic abilities wasn't. Jake came out of his shell slowly, making friends easier here than any other school he'd attended in his life since the other students were like him on most levels.
Once he started at Hogwarts the strict rules he had come to live by were gone and this delighted and scared Jake. Not having to answer to his father every day after classes on what he learned was a relief but that didn't stop him from being diligent in keeping up with his school work. He latched onto Quidditch when he learned about it, loving the thrill of the game and worked hard to get onto his House's team when he was allowed to buy a broom and try out.
Even though his father is miles away in London, Jake still receives letters via owl from his mother asking about his school on his father's behalf. His father doesn't quite accept the fact that his son is an oddball and had to be sent off to a special school taught by other weirdos who wear robes that make them look ridiculous. John still doesn't approve of all this nonsense and the older Jake gets the more he pushes him to join the British Army to follow in his footsteps. He thinks the army will set him straight and give him a goal in life.
What do you want to do after Hogwarts:
Jake isn't sure what he wants to do just yet. He loves working in the motorcycle shop during his summer holiday and kind of wants to continue working there for the time being. He also wants to move out and get his own flat, preferably in London and close to Diagon Alley so he can easily visit the Magical World.

ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER –
Face Claim:
Jake Silbermann
Role-playing Sample:
Closing the book with a dull thump, Jake couldn't help the sneeze that came on from the puff of dust that rose from the yellowed pages. Rubbing his nose he stood up, glancing at his watch. Eight-thirty.. not bad. he thought to himself. He'd been up in the library for the last three hours after wolfing down a quick dinner to study for his NEWTs exam the following morning.
Standing, he gathered his text books and piled them into his messenger bag and slung it over his shoulder before gathering the other books to return to their places on the shelves. He never understood people who would shove a library book just any old place. He always put his own back in the right place or returned it to the shelving cart. Being put to work as a sort of assistant at the library at a young age would shape young Jacob to think like this. It didn't take him long to return the books to their dusty shelves and he gave the librarian a small smile as he left. Glad for the quiet of the halls he let his mind drift as his feet led him back to the Common Room.
Rounding the last corner to ascend the stairs to his Common Room he ran smack into the middle of someone. That's what you get for not paying attention, klutz.. he thought to himself balancing himself before looking to see who had grabbed onto him to steady themselves as well. "Oh, hey Linds" he said smiling at her. "Didn't mean to bulldoze you over, I wasn't thinking"
