**WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE**
Picture:
Looks:
Height: 5ft9
Weight: 105 lbs (Eating problems)
Hair Colour: Naturally light brown, dyed black.
Eye Colour: Green
Appearance:
Oliver has snakebite piercings on his bottom lip and usually wears them whenever he's not in school uniform. He used to have a lot of tattoos, but his dad charmed them off him before they moved. He is scarily thin from eating minimal amounts. Aside from these, there's nothing that physically separates him from millions of other boys in this school.
He doesn't wear any accessories during school times.
Favourite Outfit:
Oliver doesn't care much about what he wears, he tends to throw on whatever he has lying around. He tends to wear jeans and a t-shirt, because that's all he tends to buy when he shops. However, whatever he wears, there tends to be at least one black item in his clothing. This tends to be jeans, but he can also wear black shirts too.
**PERSONALITY**
How do you treat your friends:
Oliver holds his friends very, very close to him. Although he may not voice it, he tries to show it be being as kind as he can possibly manage to them. He'd buy them presents for no reason, help them whenever possible, and attempt to beat up anyone who hurts them (though this last bit's hard for him, as he's light and easy to beat)
How do you treat your enemies:
Though people aren't often given a reason to hate Oliver, other than a simple lack of understanding, if he ever does come up against hostility, he tends to ignore the person. He is very good at blocking out the present day, and will simply walk away from anyone who could be attacking or insulting him. If he has no escape, he will attempt to defend himself, but he's not very good at it.
Social Status:
Oliver doesn't have many friends, as the absence of typical communication makes bonding difficult, and since his move he's turned into a bit of a bookworm
Positive Traits:
-
Loyal. Oliver adores his friends and wouldn't dream of leaving them or backstabbing them.
-Generous. He's happy to give anything. He's not rich and he doesn't have much, but he'd happily give it all away for his friends.
-Determined. If Oliver sets his mind to something, it will be done. He taught himself to be able to cast spells using his mind through his own will.
-Considerate. He's thoughtful of other peoples' feelings, and tends to take this into mind before he does anything.
-Decisive. Oliver knows exactly what he's doing at all times. There's hardly ever a point where he doesn't know what he's going to do, and when there is, they barely last five minutes.
Negative Traits:
-Guarded. It wouldn't be surprising if no one in Hogwarts knew a single thing about Oliver. He keeps to himself, and bottles up all his problems.
-Insecure – Oliver is very unsure of himself. He has very low self confidence because he believes he screws up everything in his life.
-Negative. Although he can see the bright side of most situations, he tends to assume that the worst thing will happen.
-Stubborn. He will not easily change his ways, mostly because of his determined nature.
-Disorganised. Oliver is an untidy person. He often loses things, because he considers the best and most convenient storage place to be the floor.

His worst memory was the night when his best friend died, for obvious reasons. Every single detail of that night is clear in his mind, as if it had only happened yesterday. What made it even more devastating was that it was the first and only time he ever came out, and he'd told the boy that he loved him.

He blames himself for his friend's death, and he punishes himself by barely eating.
He doesn't talk because he thinks bad things happen when he does.

**BEFORE AND AFTER**
How Did You Come To Be:
Michaela Farson was 18 and travelling around the world when she met Andrew in Canada. She was instantly taken by him, so much so that she temporarily moved in with her aunt that lived in Canada to get to know him better. She figured that if it went well, she could stay, and if it didn't she'd carry on with her journeys. After about a year of dating, she then moved in with him. They were married the next year, and by her third year of being with him, Michaela was pregnant with Oliver.
Childhood:
Oliver was a happy child growing up, and so was the rest of his family. He lived with his parents and his sister happily for years. They were a close family and always did things together. As he was growing up, he made friends with a boy in his neighbourhood called Christopher, who he later found out came from a pureblood family. Oliver was sent to a muggle primary school because his mother thought it was “important” for him to learn all this stuff. His young school career was a great time for him, he made friends easily and was very confident of himself.
When he reached the right age, he received a letter from Canada's wizarding school. He wasn't very surprised, as his father was a wizard and the family knew it, but he was still very pleased about it. He found that he was able to fit in there, too. He was a great student and had no trouble making new friends, but still he clung loyally to his best friend no matter what happened. Girlfriends came and went pretty quickly for Oliver, but he made sure he never let his friendship with Chris falter at any point.
When he turned 14, Oliver's feelings towards the other boy strengthened. He started spending more time with Chris and paying less attention to girls. In fact, he stopped paying attention to almost everything else. He lost interest in most things – if it wasn't with Chris, it wasn't worth doing. Suddenly, his entire world revolved around the neighbour. It took him the best part of a year to realise he was actually gay. The rest of the months, leading up to his 15th birthday, were used up realising that he was in love with Chris.
The problem was, Chris was very much straight, and Ollie knew that, so he never told anyone. However, bottling things up never worked very well for Oliver, and it started having affects on him. It made him sick, it stopped him from sleeping, it even messed up his eating habits. Christopher noticed this, as any best friend would. He kept out of it for a while, but when Oliver actually started being sick and was now crying all the time, he decided it was time to step in.
On the 28th of December, Chris asked Oliver what was going on with him. By now, Oliver had had enough of suffering, so he told him everything.
Oliver's total food consumption had cut itself down to a small bowl of cereal and half his dinner. He threw up at least once a day. He was sleeping a total of 2 hours a night, the room was constantly spinning and his emotions were uncontrollable.
The reason?
He was hopelessly in love with Chris.
He told him this. He poured his heart out to the boy. By the end, he was nearly in tears. Chris' reaction wasn't anything like he expected. He stared for a few minutes, then shook his head and left the room, saying he needed some air. Oliver, however, was distressed by this. He wanted some sort of reaction, even if the other boy screamed at him. So he followed him out of the house and into the street, begging him for something, anything other than his calm, blank expression. The other boy stopped in his tracks, and turned to face his best friend.
He explained that it was a difficult situation for him, because he wasn't gay, and this could make their friendship more awkward now that it was out in the open. Oliver tried to respond, but before he could, the other boy continued, telling that however weird things may be for them now, they'd still be friends. He wasn't going to lose him that easily.
Oliver repeated that he loved him, and Chris said he loved him too. This made him happy, even though he knew he meant it in a different way.
And then it happened. Bright lights, screeching tyres and a couple of sickening sounds, and Chris was out cold on the floor. Oliver remembered every single detail of it, from the calling for help to sitting in hospital with him. The boy was in a coma-like state, only just alive for two whole days before he actually went, and Oliver was there every single hour that they allowed him to be.
The day he died was the day Oliver stopped talking. Talking made bad things happen He'd stopped eating, too, because he didn't think he deserved to eat. His parents had no idea why he'd stopped, they thought it was just the shock of the death of his friend and that he'd get over it eventually. When two months had passed and he still hadn't spoken a word, his parents started to fall apart. Arguments started, very infrequently at first, but they slowly started occurring more and more until they were arguing several times a day. It finally got too much for Michaela and in March, she pulled her children out of school and moved back to England. She told the children that they could start school again in March, once they'd settled in.
This time, they were going to Hogwarts. [/size]
Coming To Hogwarts:
Just the idea of going to Hogwarts was hard for Oliver to cope with. For the first time in his life, he would be completely alone. This was scary for him. What made it worse was that he didn't think he could cope without his best friend with him, and he definitely couldn't get it out of his head. His mind seemed to take great joy in replaying the memory whenever he idle. So instead, he focused on his school work, and on casting spells by thought rather than speaking. It was hard, but he managed it in time to do his OWLS and go to Hogwarts.
He just hoped that the castle was hectic enough to keep him occupied all the time.
What do you want to do after Hogwarts:
Oliver has no idea what to do with his life yet. He has hopes to be something using Care of Magical Creatures, as it is his favourite subject and he couldn't think of a better use of his time. Whatever he does, he wants to have a better job than his mother has ever had, so he can make something of his life and provide for her too.

ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER –
Face Claim:
Oliver Sykes
Role-playing Sample:
This castle was huge. And very, very strange. Why did the building have to be this complicated? Fixed staircases would work just as well as these silly moving ones. It had taken Oliver ages to find his house's common room, and he only managed that because he say a bunch of people with the right badges and colours and decided to follow them. Even when he got there, he didn't know what to do with himself. Everyone was already happy and settled in, chatting so loudly that he couldn't even hear his own thoughts. How was he ever meant to get involved with this lot? He figured that his only chance of friends were probably first years, and even they'd started forming their friendships on the train.
He heaved a sigh and sat himself down on an empty chair and ran his hands along the top of the table in front of him. He was in a new country and a new school, which essentially meant that Oliver could have a complete new life. But how on Earth was he meant to do that? Just start again? He couldn't forget everything that had happened before, even if he wanted to. It just wasn't possible now...
“Hey! You're new!” A chirpy voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He looked up and blinked at the bright young girl in front of him, beaming at him. She seemed really friendly. Maybe there was a chance for him in this school after all. He smiled gently back at her and nodded.
“Well, welcome to Hogwarts!” She laughed joyously, waving her arms about. The girls movements were eccentric, so much so that she nearly knocked over the lamp standing on the table. Oliver almost laughed at this. “I'm Holly. What's your name? Where are you from? Do you have a sister? What about a brother? Are they here too?”
She hurled a string of questions at him that he couldn't possibly answer without paper and a pen. The smile dripped off his face, leaving him with a confused look and a sense of panic. Maybe this place would be harder after all. He looked around for any possible way to communicate with her, but gave up pretty quickly, and hid his head in his hands.
“...Hello? Did you hear me?” The girl continued at her usual fast pace, now quite confused with the boy's reaction. “Are... are you ignoring me? Why won't you talk to me?”
Oliver had thoroughly given up now. This was definitely going to be as difficult as he'd first thought, especially if everyone in this damned place was like this girl. He gave her a half-hearted shrug, then stood up and walked away into the dorm rooms, leaving her looking like she'd just been slapped.
