**INTRODUCTIONS**
Name:
Graham Jonathan Kerr
Nickname:
Gray
Age & Year:
Sixteen, Sixth Year
Birthday:
July 1st. This makes him a cancer. It is fair to say that most Cancers are a bundle of contradictions. Compassionate and caring with friends, family and lovers, yet they can cut to the bone with their jealous remarks and ever-changing moods. Endearingly eccentric on one hand, and on the other, insecure about how others see them. Like their astrological symbol - the Crab - Cancers can appear hard and insensitive on the outside. However, for those of us who know and love a "Moon Child", we understand that deep below lies a softness and sensitivity that makes them so very special. Love and romance matter more than anything else to this sign (but this occasionally shares first place with having lots of money in the bank). No other sign romances better, equally though, no sign takes it so badly when romance turns sour either. But with their changeable natures Cancerians are fascinating, mysterious, stimulating and extremely alluring.
Sexual Orientation:
Gay but very much in the closet.
Birthplace:
a small town in Ireland
Current Residence:
Graham lives with his family in a tiny two bedroom apartment in London. His mum and brother both have a room, but when Gray is home during the summer, he sleeps on the couch..
Parents:
Hannah Robinson, 47, unemployed.
Jonathan Kerr, 47, unknown.
His father is absent from his life and has been ever since Graham turned nine years old.
Siblings:
Arthur Malcolm Kerr, 25, factory worker
Blood Status:
Muggleborn. Gray is the first wizard in the family.
**WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE**
Picture:
Looks:
Hair/Eye Colour: Blonde/ blue eyes. Gray occasionally wears glasses.
Height/Weight - 6'1, 172 lbs.
Appearance:
Gray has a tongue piercing, which he often rattles against his teeth. He tends to do this in class when he’s bored or even when he tries to concentrate. He likes to wear wristbands and has a dog tag around his neck that used to belong to his father. Though Gray still resents him for leaving, he finds it difficult to get rid of the one tangible thing that belonged to him.
Favourite Outfit:
Gray usually dresses in a sort of emo style. His jeans are a little tighter than most guys feel comfortable in, and he combines his black jeans with with fitted black shirts. His shirts usually have some band name or color on it that definitely stands out from the background. His outfit is completed with a hoodie and a studded belt.
**PERSONALITY**
How do you treat your friends:
Besides being stubborn, he's very loyal and would do anything for his friends and family. His big dream is to find a steady job after Hogwarts and provide for his mother, so his brother has a chance of going to art school again. He really doesn't wish anything for himself. It has to do with the fact that he's very insecure, though he hides it behind a big mouth and a matching grin. Deep down he doesn't think much of himself, even thinks that it's his fault his father left them, so he is afraid of people leaving him. He doesn't get clingy when they do though, only withdraws himself emotionally and pretends to not give a shit.
How do you treat your enemies:
He is stubborn to a fault, and when people hurt him, can lash out very easily. If someone has done something to upset him, he can become downright cruel. He’ll even get into physical fights if he feels that he can’t get his point across. He's used to people leaving and tries to protect his own heart. It's why new people generally have trouble getting him to open up. There are only a few people who really know what's going on inside of him, and though he knows some of his friends suspect he's gay, it's never actually been said.
Social Status:
Gray is somewhere inbetween normal and popular. He has a lot of friends but not a lot that really know all about him. Most of his friends are guys or girls that he hangs out with or plays Quidditch with. Graham is an outgoing guy who loves to party and hang out with his friends. He's always up for a prank, though he isn't usually the one designing the elaborate schemes. He goes with the flow, seemingly enjoying life and just being a regular teenager.
Positive Traits:
* Loyal – When people mean something to him, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect them and take care of them. They can count on him at any time, no matter what he’s doing.
* Outgoing – Gray enjoys spending time with his friends, and is often the one to suggest a party or a prank. He loves to be able to make people smile and can always be found trying to cheer up those that are feeling miserable.
* Athletic – Quidditch is his life, but aside from that he loves to go for a morning job. Running clears his head and working out makes him feel good. There aren’t many mornings that he stays in bed until school is about to start.
* Independent – Graham is used to finding ways to make money. He tries to make things as easy as possible on his mother and brother, occasionally working during the summer holidays to give them somewhat of a treat.
* Courageous – He is definitely not easy to scare. Whether it comes to dares like spending a night in the Shrieking Shack or confronting a group of guys that are tormenting his friend, Gray will jump on it without thinking twice.
* Honest – Graham doesn’t lie. On occasion he will try to hide the truth from someone, but it’s hard for him to downright lie to his friends. When it comes to his enemies, he is not so obvious. It doesn’t feel right to lie to the people he cares about though.
Negative Traits:
* Stubborn – to a fucking fault. If Graham wants something, chances are that he’ll get it. Somehow, some way.
* Jealous – He’s mostly just jealous of people that seem to have things so much easier than he does. People who don’t have to worry about money or their family finding out their secrets. People who aren’t afraid to come out as gay.
* Insecure – Graham doesn’t think much of himself. He tries to do better by being the perfect friend and helping out his family, but it’s all just actions that don’t seem to reflect on who he is. He knows that he can get angry and absolutely awful, and it often weighs on him long after it happened.
* Emotionally closed off – It is hard to get him to talk about his problems. He would rather listen and offer advice (not that he’s good at that) than talk about his own situation. He’s used to solving his own problems.
* Immature – He’s just a teenager. He holds grudges, can be completely cruel and he enjoys irresponsible things like drinking and doing drugs on occasion. Life is difficult enough when you’re a grown-up, why hurry to become one?

**SOME MORE INSIGHT**
Skills/Hobbies:
Gray knows how to get out of trouble fairly well. When he tries, his innocent face and big blue eyes often help him get rid of the police or suspecting people. He’s also fairly talented in standard gang things – his specialty is opening and hotwiring cars. Besides that he’s quite a good Beater. He loves drumming and going for a run.
Likes/Dislikes:
Likes:
* Quidditch – Lives it, breathes it. His goal is to become Quidditch Captain and help his team win the cup.
* Running – It clears his head, the same way music does.
* Drumming – If he’s not at an actual drum set, he’s tapping his fingers or rattling his piercing to some tune he has inside his head.
* Spending time with friends – There’s nothing better than having a nice evening with your mates. Alcohol is often involved.
* Cigarettes – He’s a smoker. Has been ever since the age of twelve. It makes him look good.
* Butterscotch candy – One of his favorites. He can often be found eating candy, but he works out enough to never gain a pound.
Dislikes:
* School – He loves being around his friends, but the actual ‘school’ part is quite boring. He ditches class occasionally if he finds something better to do.
* People butting in – He doesn’t like nosy people, who try to figure out more than they can handle. Secrets are untold for a reason.
* Reading – Just not his thing. If a Homework assignment states to read this and that chapter, chances are high he won’t even bother.
* Being poor – Graham hates the shabby clothes, the fact that he can’t give his mother everything she wants or even needs. When he’s home for the holidays he often meets up with his gang, earning a quick bucks to relieve the pressure. Still, they’re dead fucking poor.
* Players – He knows that he’s a hypocrite, but he hates people who just play with others for fun. He doesn’t like how they deceive him or his friends. This said, he has made quite a habit of deceiving people, but never ones that he actually knows.
Best/Worst memory:
Best: Playing Quidditch for the first time. If there is anything in school that Graham took an immediate shine to it was flying. The first time he called for his broom, it immediately jumped up into his hand. He loves being in the air, feeling free and normal.
Worst: The day he realised that his father wasn't coming back. It was a few days after his ninth birthday, and he's been terrified of people leaving him ever since.
Secrets:
Gray has a fair few secrets.
-1- He’s gay. He knows he’s gay, he just doesn’t want to say it. It’s a world full of trouble that he doesn’t need.
-2- * When he’s at home during the summer, he’s the leader of one of Londons smaller gangs. They try to steer clear of turf wars and focus on simple things – stealing cars, robbing stores, doing drugs. There’s seven people in the gang, each one dirt poor. They try to only steal from the rich and sometimes call themselves the modern day Robin Hoods.
**YOUR HOGWARTS CAREER**
What subjects are you taking this term:
He took all courses last year and took his OWLs. These were his grades. He's still taking the subjects that have a *.
Favourite/Least Favourite Subject:
Favorite: Muggle studies. Coming from a completely Muggle background, this course seemed like an easy O, and so far it has been reasonably easy for him to scrape together a good enough grade to continue this subject onto NEWT level.
Least favorite: Divination. Though Graham is not completely bad at it, he just doesn’t like the subject. He only chose it because it is one of the few classes that he managed to complete on OWL level. He doesn’t seem interested in knowing the future, mostly because he’s already got his mind made up about things.
What kind of student are you:
Gray is often told off for skipping class, not handing his homework in on time [if at all] and rattling his tongue piercing constantly. Some teachers make him feel like they’re out to get him, like they’re just looking for a reason to give him detention. Others seem to take a more positive approach and reward him when he does show up, trying to inspire some motivation in the boy. It is hard for him to get excited for any subject, though he does try harder with Professors that he likes.
What is your preferred House:
He's always been a Hufflepuff.
**BEFORE AND AFTER**
How Did You Come To Be/Childhood:
Boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl. They marry. That used to be his parents lives. Graham Jonathan Kerr was born on July 1st, into this family that lived in a small house, in a tiny village, in Ireland. The first years of his life were wonderful. His father held a job in a Whiskey 'factory', and his mother made money by babysitting. He has one older brother, Arthur, who is nine years older than he is. From an early age on, Arthur was known for his drawings and paintings, and he was pretty much perceived as the perfect son. Gray adores his brother, and he doesn't really mind that Art always had the place in the spotlight.
A few days before he was about to turn nine, his father left unannounced. He said he was going to get Graham a present, and Gray spent many days in front of the door, waiting for him to come home. Because he hadn't said goodbye, the little boy still expected him to come back. In fact, he'd left a night light on for months.
Eventually his hope faded, and he had to come to terms with the fact that his father had walked out on their family. To make matters worse, his mother got sick. She had diabetes and lost her eye sight when she couldn't be bothered to get treated. Ever since then, life's been hard. Arthur had to give up his career as a painter to work a job in a factory. They didn’t even have money to send him to Hogwarts.
Coming To Hogwarts:
When Graham got his letter he was extremely excited. He was lost in dreams of how much better this world would be, how magic could possibly fix his entire life. Until he realized that there was no way they could afford this. He actually went as far as to hide the letter in his small bedroom. One day, Arthur found it while cleaning, and that night they had a hard conversation about the future. His mother decided to sell the small house they had in Ireland and relocate to a shabby neighbourhood in London. With the money from the sale, they were able to buy Graham the things he needed for his first year at least.
Arthur then proceeded to work double shifts to pay for his second year. The summer after he turned thirteen, just as he was worrying about getting his stuff for Third Year, he somehow landed himself in the gang world. It was just a fight at first, defending a friend, but he soon got caught up with the wrong crowd. It has managed to completely change his world though, and for now ensures a proper education.
What do you want to do after Hogwarts:
He's always wanted to help out his family by working some crappy Muggle job, so he could send his brother Arthur back to art school.
