The person lying on the ground in front of the Shack was nothing more than a shaking, bleeding mess. The girl was clinging to the ground, nails split as she clawed at the sand, trying to push herself up in an attempt to get away from whatever had happened here earlier. Despite her determination not to cry when her attackers had been on her, she couldn't hold it in now, and tears slowly slid down her cheeks, leaving streaks where they parted the mud and blood on her face. Her long blonde hair was tangled, matted to the spot on her forehead where a long gash was still dripping blood.
The young girl finally gave up moving and stayed there for a while, shivering in the cold October air until, maybe an hour, maybe two after she'd been left, a small owl landed on her shoulder, hooting softly into her ear. Trembling fingers reached for the note as she blinked, barely able to make out the words, except for that one all important one. Bayne.
It made her bite her lip, wincing when she felt the sting there too. She had no quill, nothing to write back and say that she was okay, nothing to say that she wasn't either. Except her blood, and she quickly brushed her finger over her head before smearing some of it onto the page, tying the letter back to Bayne's owl as best as she could, before letting it go again.
As soon as the small animal had left, she made another attempt at pushing herself up again, finally managing to crawl into a sitting position, arms wrapped around her waist. Her clothes were too big, and they were boy clothes, which made for a rather odd sight. No one but Bryn knew this girl, and now her attackers did too. They'd waited for the Potion to stop working, having heard the rumor that spread through the school. Needless to say, they hadn't been happy when it turned out to be true, and they'd shown her that over the past couple of days.
The girl had never expected people to respond this way. Sure, she figured that some would be mad if they found out, but this...it was beyond anger. They had wanted to kill some part of her, truly degrade her, and though they hadn't taken anything from her - her virginity long gone - they had managed to hurt her worse than she'd been capable of expecting.
She had no Potion left to turn herself back into the boy she'd once been, and she wasn't quite sure right now if she wanted to go back to that. All she wanted was to fall asleep and forget about everything that had happened since the night Bayne had last kissed her goodnight.

The weekend went on as usual, after the night when everything had come out between Luke and himself, everything went on as normal... or so he'd thought. The first morning, he'd expected to see Luke as usual sat with Bryn and Brooke, but he was nowhere to be seen. Bayne had brought him back he remembered that clearly, and both Bryn and Brooke looked like they had major headaches. Neither one of them looked well and neither one of them had seen Luke since the afternoon before. So Bayne went down to breakfast, figuring he'd be there.
But he wasnt.
That happened the next day and Bayne found himself growing worried. Where was Luke? He figured he'd just been avoiding Bayne, but he couldnt get the nagging feeling out of his head that something was... wrong.
Monday rolled on and Luke wasnt in the common room in the morning, he wasnt at breakfast and he wasnt in morning classes either. Finally, after not doing anything in his first two lessons, at break he ducked down to the owlery and wrote a note. Luke, where are you? I'm worried sick about you. Love Bayne xx Turning to his owl, Althea he tied it to her leg. "Find Luke, dont stop looking until you find him. Its important Althea, I'm worried about him." She understood, her amber eyes concerned as she nipped his finger affectionatly.
He waited. And waited. And waited. And waited.
By the time Althea got back night had long since fallen over the grounds. He had already started pacing and due to his worry he could not feel the cold of the night air. He took the letter off Althea and saw the blood smears. His heart lept to his throat and for a moment Bayne thought he was going to be sick. "Where is he?" He asked the owl who hooted back to him, well Bayne wasnt an expert on owl language. "Take me to him Althea, he's hurt! We have to get to him fast." She understood and flew out the window.
Bayne raced down the stairs and out of the owlery and looked up, he waited, he couldnt see his owl anywhere. She swooped down on him after a while and hooted before flying off in the direction of the whomping willow. His feet beat hard against the earth, and though he knew he was running it felt like time itself had slowed and Bayne wasnt getting anywhere. "Althea! Fly ahead and stay with him! Peck anyone as hard as you can who goes near him who is not me. Try to keep him calm and for gods sake dont leave him alone!"
Althea flew off towards the whomping willow and hopefully she'd do as Bayne asked. He pushed himself further and finally found himself nearing the hazadous tree. He could see someone on the floor but it wasnt Luke. It was someone with long hair and... "Oh my god..." Boobs! Though Bayne didnt stop running, he knew it was Luke... or well... it was the female version of him at any rate. He skidded down to his knees and gathered the girl in his arms. She was, no, he was weak. Okay Bayne sensed this would get confusing. He pushed Luke's hair away from his face, too worried to care that Luke was a girl, least he wasnt a bat. Blood was all over his, her, his face. The hair was matted and tangled... "God I've been so worried... hang on, who are you?" Bayne asked as a matter of fact, he didnt want to call this girl Luke if it wasnt her. Him... Oh you got the point. "Can you stand? Or would you like help?" He asked, keeping hold of Luke. "When I find the people who did this... I'll kill them you just see if I dont."

He'd been on the edge of passing out when the owl came back out of nowhere, picking affectionately at his ear and hooting softly at him. There was something soothing about her, the blonde reaching out to stroke her feathers. He wasn't often frightened, but when footsteps raced towards him, the first thing he thought was oh no, they're back. He'd crawled through the long hallway to the whomping willow, for no other reason than to be away from that house and a little closer to where he'd ended up in Bayne's arms only nights before. It was a selfish desire, after all, they were just friends, but Luke could hardly be expected to think sanely now could he?
He trembled when he heard that voice, ready to pass out right then and there, that was, until he heard that stupid question. It was odd, how that seemed to make him a little stronger. Then again, Luke had always been the type to snap at idiotic questions, and this just seemed the icing on the stupid-cake. "What the fuck, who do you think I am? Think there's any other girls lying around sending bloody messages your way?" He tried to keep his voice light, insert a little humor into it, so that Bayne wouldn't worry too much about him.
After all, he couldn't tell him what had really happened. If he did, they would go after Brooke. Bryn and Bayne could handle themselves, but Brooke...she was his best female friend. He couldn't let this happen to her as well. So he'd have to keep his mouth shut.

Bayne's eyes widened as the remark came out of Luke's mouth. Yep, that was definatly Luke. Only Luke would speak to him like that. It brought a smile to his face, although when he looked at Luke again, previous anger came back. New feeling since this time it wasnt directed at either himself or at Luke. If he hadnt left him, if Bayne had just stayed with him, if he'd made sure everyone knew Bayne was protecting Luke. If only if only. He couldnt change this, it had happened and no manner of wishful thinking could make it unhappen. Unfortunatly.
"Well I knew this," He indicated to the female form, "But I didnt know what she, her, you... well what the female version of you looked like. But dont worry, you're safe now I wont let anything happen to you. I will protect you." His voice was strong, he bent down and lifted Luke in the firman's lift. Althea perched on Bayne's shoulder, hooting at Luke in a sing song kind of way, surprisingly it reminded him of the phoenix's song. He wanted to do something for Luke, anything but what?
Well, taking him to the hospital wing seemed like a good idea but somehow he knew Luke would kick up a fuss, not being a guy anymore, so instead he took Luke through the dense wood of the forbidden forest, keeping his footing over the roots and keeping his ears out for any sounds of danger. He was looking for a place he'd once found, near the lake but from the place everyone else went it was practically invisible, hell, Bayne had only fell on it by accident.
After wandering around for a couple of minutes, he found the parting between the trees and came out of them, in the middle of the cliff side, the water sparkling as the light of the stars shone down. He took off his jacket, then his shirt. Placing his jacket around Luke he tore his shirt into small strips, bandaged Luke's arm with one of them, wrapped two around her hands and with the largest and last piece he walked to the lake and dipped it in the ice cold water. Once he was done, he returned to Luke and began to dab gently at the wounds on his head, trying to get rid of as much blood and dirt as possible. "I will never let this happen to you again. I promise you."

It was a little strange, how Bayne didn’t even ask what happened, and instead just carried him into the woods. Lukas blinked up at the sky for a minute, wondering where they were going, but he didn’t mind really, as long as they steered clear of the castle. The last thing he wanted was for someone to figure out that this was him, not when there was a chance of this happening more often. The blonde figured, if anyone asked, he would just stick to a rather likely story – someone had figured out he was a girl, and they’d beaten him up. No one had to know that there was rape involved.
As he was put down on the soft forest ground, he let Bayne take care of him with a mixed look on his face. He was partly amused by the way the older male was so concerned about him, so careful when he touched him, and he was partly saddened that things had to be this way. He couldn't help wondering what the other thought of him now, seeing him like this. Sure, he'd told him, but having to see it, having to really acknowledge that your future boyfriend was technically a girl, it was something quite different.
Lukas hissed as cold water hit his forehead, frowning a little but letting the taller male do his best to clean him up. He figured that he would look a lot less scary once he was fixed up, and patiently waited for the Gryffindor to stop dabbing at his wounds. When it didn't happen any time soon, he just fidgeted a little, looking up at him. "Thanks" His, her voice was soft, but if you listened really closely, you could still hear that they were the same person.

Honestly, if asked, Bayne wouldnt be able to tell you what was on his mind. He knew his emotions were showing on his face, he wasnt stupid. He was annoyed at the people who did this, determined to find them and kick their asses and leave them for dead, bemused at the fact Luke was really a girl, confused by the fact Bayne was gay but in love with Luke who was in fact... a girl. Honestly, his emotions were running high enough to send him insane if he allowed it. But Bayne was known for his composure, he kept his cool in situations like these and was usually able to remain reserved.
"Stop being a baby its only water." He smirked as Luke hissed when the ice cold cloth touched his forehead. Though, trying to clean him up without hurting him and while he was fidgeting was proving difficult. "Will you stay still for a moment! I'm nearly done." He mopped up the last bit of blood on Luke's head and threw the piece of his shirt on the floor.
Bayne sat in front of Luke, topless now since Luke had his jacket but it was fine, he wasnt really feeling the cold. Instead, he was gazing at Luke, a pointed expression on his face. Luke had been saved, cleaned up and looked after and now it was time for him to talk. Bayne folded his arms across his chest, raised his left eyebrow and waited, Luke still didnt say a word, unless you counted thanks but Bayne wasnt after a thankyou. "What happened Luke?" He asked, he couldnt help Luke unless he was honest with Bayne. "And dont give me an I fell over speel cause it wont wash. Who did this to you?"

Lukas arched an eyebrow when Bayne demanded an explanation, wincing when he realised it probably hadn't been the brightest idea to do anything that involved movement. Pulling the jacket closer around him, he had to fight his instincts not to go on the defense straight away. "Is there any reason why you assume I'd lie to you?"
His voice was soft, fingers brushing over his own cheek, gingerly touching the bruises and bumps that were there. He probably looked awful, more awful than he usually did when in his girl form, and all he really wanted right now was to have his Potion so he could at least feel a little more like himself. And maybe, just maybe, it would also take away this horrible ache that had come with those boys violating his body.
Shaking his head, he ran fingers through hair that was too long and too tangled for it to be comfortable, sighing deeply. "I'm not going to lie. I think some of my 'exes'" He made little marks in the air as to indicate the term in the loosest way possible, "overheard our conversation the other night. You know, our little shouting match. They must've heard my confession...Weren't too happy with it."
Lukas shifted a little on the forest floor, not liking that he had to remember this or talk about it, but he'd promised Bayne that he would try and make this thing between them work, so he would. "So they pretty much ambushed me in the middle of the night, dragged me to the Shack, kept me here to see if it was true, and beat me up." It was a pretty likely story, and every word of it was true. Bayne didn't need to know that they'd also raped him.

"I dont know." Bayne answered honestly, dabbing at the last wound. His brown eyes burning with some emotion Bayne wasnt all that used to feeling and one he would prefer not to feel again. Once done, he discarded the wasted shirt -- one of his best -- and sat back, looking at Luke as though expecting him to say something that was concrete, evidential.. but he didnt. "You might lie to me to stop me going on some kamikaze mission... but thats about the only reason I could think of."
He watched as Luke examined his own injuries, carefully as to not cause him any more unnecessary pain. Bayne had the feeling that no matter what Luke told him he'd be holding something back. He didnt know why, just a nagging feeling that Luke would tell him the truth, just not the entire truth. He guessed it would have been fine, but he didnt know. It depending on what he was holding back.
"Exes..." He repeated watching as Luke indicated the term loosly. So, they were just other numbers then, they werent what you could class as an actual ex. That shouldnt have made Bayne as jealous as it did, but he hid it well. "I see." Bayne spoke simply, his brows creasing and his eyes getting the glazed look which it often did when Bayne began to think a little too hard, harder than the human brain could really cope with.
"And... Bryn didnt even try to stop them?" He asked, finding it hard to believe that neither Brooke nor Bryn would have tried to help him. Weren't the three of them close? Closer than anybody else? This had Bayne thinking and for just one moment Bayne thought Bryn a suspect, thought he might have had something to do with it since the paper incident... but that thought was quickly squashed. Bryn would never do anything like that.

"I don't know what happened with them" Luke shrugged a shoulder, having wondered about that himself. It had been late that night, and Brooke had already retired to her room. He'd been on his bed, Bryn had been asleep, and as far as he knew, the other hadn't woken up when things got rough. "I figure Bryn was sleeping. It all happened fairly quickly...I was too shocked to really fight back at the time."
It was something he was angry with himself for, not having fought back harder. Maybe if he had, his friends would have woken up and all this could have been avoided. The blonde hardly cared about having been beaten up, since it wasn't the first time he'd been in a physical brawl. But being raped, while being a girl, it was more degrading than anything else he'd ever experienced.
And he simply couldn't tell Bayne, even if it hadn't been for the protection of a girl he saw as his sister. He knew that it would hurt the older male, that it might break the fragile bond there was between them. It would just mess with things and he couldn't stand the thought of that. No, Bayne was better off not knowing.
