Gale felt bad, no he felt really bad.. horrible in fact. He'd finally gotten together with the guy he'd had a crush on for months and in less than a month he all but disappeared from school and then finally was taken out for a while because of family matters. He'd written some to Nate, but it was hard when he was all the way in America for half the time. A few days after he got back to England he sent a couple of owls to Nate, one to the school in case he was still there and then the other to his home in case he already went home for the holiday. His family was in London for a few days visiting the city and Gale wanted to see Nate if he could. The letters he sent asked Nate if he could meet him at noon in front of the ferris wheel next to the river in the city.

Gale was bundled up in a black pea coat, gloves and a knit cap on his head to keep his ears from freezing since he was rather fond of them. Christmas-time in London was really pretty but it was also freezing cold. He glanced around for any sight of Nate, wondering if he should even call him his boyfriend anymore. He bit his lip as he hoped he still could. Walking over to a bench he sat down, tempted to buy some hot chocolate from a vendor nearby but he wasn't really interested in fighting the chilly wind to get it. Sighing softly he kept an eye out for Nate, thinking if he wasn't there within the hour he'd go inside somewhere to warm up before heading back to the hotel his parents were at.

It wasn't like Nate's boyfriends to run away, that was more his deal. So when he had to deal with being the recipient of such behavior, he couldn't exactly say that he liked it. In fact, it sucked. Enough for him to yet again promise himself he wouldn't do anything of the sort to his boyfriend - if he could still call him that. Yeah, Gale had written him a note or two, but they hadn't exactly labeled what this was right now. The brunette figured that they'd cross that bridge when they got there, and that he'd treat him the way he always did when he saw him - with the respect he felt for him, and hiding most of the rest. He wasn't used to showing all the love he felt for people, and it was especially difficult over the holidays.

He'd been with his grandparents the day Gale owled him, and his parents were nagging at him to stay in - they didn't see each other nearly often enough, yada yada. He'd shrugged, resisted the urge to flip them off, and bundled himself up to brave the cold weather. The things he did for his boyfriend! He'd surely get himself into a fight, but right now he wanted to know what his relationship status was. He already knew his relationship with his parents was fucked up, and he doubted things would change in that respect. With Gale, they just might.

Stuffing his hands in his pockets, he quickly paced through the city, trying to get to the place where he was supposed to meet someone he only kissed a couple of times. It was hard, not having seen him, Gale having been absent when the attack had happened. It had changed things, Hogwarts didn't feel safe anymore, and in the aftermath of the attack everyone had been a lot more open and vulnerable than usual. Nate hadn't, as he didn't have people to connect to as much as others seemed to. He'd withdrawn most of the time, keeping his feelings to himself, and it kept him a little quieter and cooler than he would have liked.

Finally spotting the blonde, his heart did a little flip and he couldn't suppress a smile upon approaching him. "Hey" Nate wanted to say something meaningful, but couldn't come up with anything other than "happy holidays" letting his voice drift off at the end, making it sound both like a statement and a question.
